Fido or Fluffy’s bad breath could be more than a smelly annoyance; it might signify a serious health risk with the potential to damage not only the animal’s teeth and gums but its internal organs as well.

To address the significance of oral health care for pets, several veterinary groups are sponsoring National Pet Dental Health Month in February. Sponsors include the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), American Veterinary Dental Society (AVDS), Academy of Veterinary Dentistry, American Veterinary Dental College, Academy of Veterinary Dental Technicians, Veterinary Oral Health Council and Hill’s Pet Nutrition Inc.

According to the AVDS, 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats show signs of oral disease by age three, often indicated by bad breath, a change in eating or chewing habits, pawing at the face and mouth and depression.

Here at EOTL, we feel it’s important to reach out and support other local pet organizations.  We would like to share with you a new service for pets in Mukwonago—a pet food pantry.

In today’s difficult economy, many families are struggling to make ends meet and often turn to local food pantries for support.  But what happens when these families have household pets that need to be taken care of?  Tracy Harris of Mukwonago has founded Barney’s Blessings Pet Food Pantry so family pets will not be forgotten.

Although not a part of the Mukwonago Food Pantry, Harris is working alongside the pantry and has been given permission from pantry board members to use their parking lot to accept donations from 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays.

We are talking about adding Salmon & Cod Liver Oil to your pet’s diet. 

The benefits of fish oil are numerous in supporting optimal dog & cat health by:

We’ve been dreaming of spring cleaning and have cleared out the holiday items to add space for some great new stuff…

The new year has begun and we are celebrating our 5th Anniversary thanks to you! 

This time of year brings reflection on a year gone by and all the blessings we’ve experienced. 

Three years in a row you’ve voted us the Best Pet Store through the WISN A-List.  We continue to research and bring you the best food, treats, supplements and pet supplies available and we appreciate your trust, support and input. 

Our grooming and SPA services have expanded and we are excited to offer full service grooming seven days a week!

2010 also brings another new and exciting offer—the debut of our DAILY SPECIALS!  Every day we will offer a different special so be sure to stop in often and check our menu board for great deals.

One of the most popular new year’s resolutions is the desire to lose weight.  Our pets can suffer with being overweight from the same complications we do.  The cold Wisconsin winters present the challenge of keeping ourselves and our pets active during this time of year to stay in shape.  Ask us about the benefits of feeding your dog and cat a grain free diet!

Being that it’s Christmas week many people will be spending time with family and friends.  Our animals are a part of our family and it’s obvious our customers feel the same way!  Gifts are being purchased and hidden for the four-legged members of the family to open along with the humans in their life.  We have heard this phrase a lot lately—“Make sure you hide that the minute you get into the house so the dog doesn’t see it!”
